Stock ‘Vintage Brown’ is unlike anything else in the garden, and without question one of the most striking stock varieties we’ve ever grown. This special Japanese introduction trades height for color, delivering compact stems topped with the most exquisite muddy rose blooms, softly toned with an antique, timeworn feel. It’s subtle, complex, and endlessly elegant.
This is the kind of flower designers quietly obsess over. It brings depth and restraint to arrangements, pairing beautifully with warm neutrals and soft blush tones. A few stems instantly elevate bouquets, adding that hard-to-name quality that makes florals feel collected rather than styled.
Because the most memorable flowers are rarely the loudest ones.

Seed Sowing & Growing Notes:
Sow multiple seeds per cell indoors about 6 weeks before last frost. Transplant outdoors while the weather is still cool, as stock thrives in mild temperatures. Succession planting can help extend the harvest window. Do not pinch plants.
Harvesting & Vase Life:
Harvest when roughly half of the florets on a stem have opened. Change vase water frequently to prevent a strong cabbage-like scent. Expect a vase life of 7 to 10 days.
