Stained Finishing Oil

This All in One Stain and Finishing Oil is your go to solution to bare wood to show off the grain, yet change the colour to your desire. The pigment in it stains your wood accentuating the grain.

It has a combination of natural oils and resins that penetrate into the wood fibers to create a durable, scratch resistant, waterproof finish.

It does not leave a surface film that sits on top, rather it soaks in and becomes part of your wood.

It is ideal for wooden table tops as it has excellent resistance to abrasions and can be washed over and over again!

Ultra Grip

Have a really tricky surface to paint? Our Ultra Grip allows for Fusion™ to adhere to surfaces that are typically not for painting such as a lacquered surface, laminate, metal or glass.

This water based emulsion increases the adhesion of Fusion™ colours to glossy, hard to grip surfaces. Milky when wet, dries translucent with very good clarity.Test your methods and product combinations prior to applying in order to ensure desired effects. For optimum adhesion, clean the surface to be painted with T.S.P. and sand lightly to roughen the surface.

TO USE:

Apply one very thin coat. Allow to dry for 12 hours before applying subsequent coats of Fusion™ colours. Clean up with water.

Because Ultra Grip is so strong, it can hold more texture, so if you apply it heavily with a brush, you will see brush marks, so apply thin and sparingly.

Tough Coat

Perfect for those high traffic surfaces such as table tops, our non-yellowing water-based wipe on sealer, easily applied with a damp lint free cloth and dries to a matte finish.

Shake gently before use. If applying to a recently painted surface, allow 12-24 hours of drying time before applying. For best results, use with a damp lint free rag and apply two coats 2-4 hours apart. In humid areas, longer drying times may be required.

This oil based brush on gel stain produces a durable protective urethane coating with satin finish that is ideal for heavily used interior surfaces.

CLEAN UP AND THINNER

Odourless mineral spirits.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Apply to a clean sound surface free of grease, oil, dirt, shellac or dust. Do not apply to a surface that is wet, or on asphalt, shellac, vinyl or linoleum tile.

APPLICATION

Stir thoroughly before applying. Do not shake as you will introduce bubbles. Appears as a coloured gel until stirred. Dries to a satin sheen in the colour of your choosing. (One coat is translucent – subsequent coats can build to a solid color. Test your methods in an inconspicuous area.) Using a brush (or very short nap roller – NOT a foam roller-avoid air bubbles). Dry time is approximately 4 hours at 25°C and 50% relative humidity on most porous surfaces and can be longer if applied thickly or to completely sealed surfaces. Apply a thin coat in a dust free area. Wait 4 hours before recoating if needed. Remember to always test for tackiness prior to re-coating – if it’s still tacky wait another few hours and re-test. (if subsequent coats are desired or surface feels bumpy give a light sanding and remove dust before recoating. If applying to brand new raw wood, the first coating should be thinned by 20% by using 1 part mineral spirits and 4 parts gel stain (dry time will be much shorter on this initial coat). When dry area can be lightly used in 24 to 48 hours. Takes approx. 5 days to cure.

Staalmeester Brush - D - Flat #15

Staalmeester® have been manufacturing brushes for over 70 years. The synthetic blend bristles can be used with of all types of paint, however, we are particularly happy with the way it performs with Fusion Mineral Paint.

This unique synthetic / natural bristle blend has a short natural china bristle, blended with a longer silky synthetic bristle. The natural bristle ensures better paint absorption and the synthetic bristle component allows for a smooth, even application having minimal to no brush strokes.

This top quality brush has a traditional beechwood handle and a coppered ferrule, (did you ever see a prettier brush?), with deeply set bristles which is ideal for painting small projects, complicated mouldings, banisters, window frames, ledges, doors and of course furniture. Aside from the flat, the Staalmeester® synthetic blend bristles have a band of string that is to be kept intact as they give the bristles direction and perfect tension.
