Classic silver foliage that earns its keep all season long.

Dusty Miller ‘Silver Dust’ is a true cutting garden staple. Tall, sturdy stems are topped with softly serrated silver leaves that add instant contrast, calm, and structure to bouquets. The colour is that perfect, muted silver that works with absolutely everything, from romantic pastels to bold, saturated blooms.

This variety is incredibly productive. The more you cut, the more it responds, sending up fresh stems again and again. Ready to harvest just a few months after sowing, it quickly becomes one of those plants you reach for constantly when building arrangements. It solves the very real problem of needing reliable, neutral foliage that pulls everything together without competing for attention.

Hardworking and unfussy, ‘Silver Dust’ performs beautifully in full sun and will reward you with armfuls of fuzzy foliage throughout the season. In warmer climates, it can even return year after year when mulched, but as an annual it more than proves its worth.

Because great arrangements start with great foliage.

Seed Sowing & Growing Notes:

Start seeds indoors in trays 10 to 12 weeks before last frost. Seeds are slow to germinate, so bottom-watering is recommended until plants emerge. Young seedlings will not appear silver right away, but foliage will develop its signature color as plants mature. Transplant outdoors only after all danger of frost has passed.

Harvesting & Vase Life:

Harvest stems once they are mature and firm. Foliage is prone to wilting, so cut during the coolest part of the day. Immediately after harvest, dip the bottom few inches of stems in boiling water for 7 to 10 seconds or use Quick Dip, then place into cool water. Expect a vase life of approximately 7 to 10 days. Foliage can also be dried by hanging stems upside down in a warm, dark place for 2 to 3 weeks.

A dependable classic that quietly elevates every bouquet it touches.
