Basil ‘Mrs. Burns Lemon’ is one of those plants that earns its place in the garden again and again. Seed Sowing & Growing Notes:
Start seeds indoors in trays about 6 weeks before last frost. Transplant outdoors only after all danger of frost has passed and temperatures have warmed, as basil is very sensitive to cold. Once established, plants grow quickly in warm soil and sunshine.
Harvesting & Vase Life:
Harvest when stems begin to toughen or just as flowers start to form. Cut during the coolest part of the day to reduce wilting. Immediately dip the bottom few inches of stems in boiling water for 7 to 10 seconds, or use Quick Dip, then place into cool water. Expect a vase life of approximately 7 to 10 days.
