Moody, mysterious, and completely unforgettable.
Shirley Poppy ‘Amazing Grey’ is one of those flowers that feels almost unreal when you see it in bloom. Petite, papery petals unfurl in a haunting purple-gray tone, soft and smoky, with the same quiet drama we love in ‘Nimbus’ sweet peas. It is unlike anything else in the garden and instantly sets the mood wherever it grows.
These plants are vigorous and generous, blooming freely and bringing that rare, editorial color that designers crave. When the flowers finish their brief but beautiful show, they leave behind charming chocolate-capped seedpods that are just as useful as the blooms themselves. Fresh flowers for moments, sculptural pods for the long haul. It is a plant that gives you options, not just petals.
Perfect for personal cutting gardens and event work alike, ‘Amazing Grey’ solves the problem of finding truly unique colour while still being easy to grow and endlessly interesting through the season.
Because some flowers are meant to feel a little mysterious.

Seed Sowing & Growing Notes:
Shirley poppies dislike being transplanted and perform best when direct-seeded into the garden after all danger of frost has passed. Seeds can be started indoors if needed, but take extra care during transplanting to avoid disturbing the roots.
Harvesting & Vase Life:
Individual blooms are short-lived, lasting approximately 3 to 4 days when stem ends are seared in boiling water for 7 to 10 seconds. Seedpods can be harvested and dried for later use and will last indefinitely.
A rare beauty that leaves its mark long after the petals fall.
