Cosmos ‘Xsenia’ quickly earned its place as a farm favorite, and it’s easy to see why. These early-to-flower blooms open in rich shades of magenta, purple, and raspberry, then soften and mellow into warm apricot tones as they age. The result is a chameleon-like flower that brings depth and nuance to arrangements, never reading as just one colour.
Blooms are more petite than traditional cosmos, but what they lack in size they make up for in refinement. Medium-height, healthy plants carry flowers on strong, upright stems, making them reliable, tidy, and easy to work with. This variety solves the problem of overpowering blooms by offering colour, movement, and interest without overwhelming a bouquet.
Because the most interesting flowers are the ones that keep changing.

Seed Sowing & Growing Notes:
Start seeds indoors 4 to 6 weeks before last frost, then transplant outdoors once all danger of frost has passed. Cosmos can also be direct-seeded once the weather has warmed for a simple, low-effort approach.
Harvesting & Vase Life:
Harvest when buds are just beginning to crack but not fully open. For double varieties, allow blooms to open halfway before cutting. Expect a vase life of approximately 5 to 6 days.
