Statice ‘Rat Tail’ is one of those flowers that instantly changes the feel of an arrangement. Tall, plume-like blooms resemble oversized purple astilbe, tipped with rich cranberry tones that deepen as they mature. It has long been a favorite for dried flower crafts, and for good reason. These sculptural stems hold their shape beautifully and add drama without overwhelming a design.

Seed Sowing & Growing Notes:
Start seeds indoors about 6 weeks before last frost. Transplant outdoors once all danger of frost has passed. Seeds require light to germinate, so press gently into the soil and do not cover.
Harvesting & Vase Life:
Harvest only once all flowers on a stem have appeared. Cutting too early can cause wilting. Expect a vase life of 7 to 10 days when fresh. To dry, hang stems upside down in a warm, dark place for 4 to 6 weeks.
