Snapdragon ‘Madame Butterfly Bronze’ is a true standout in the cutting garden. Often called an azalea snapdragon, this variety is loved for its full, double-petaled blooms that feel soft, romantic, and generously layered. The warm apricot-bronze colouring adds richness without heaviness, making it especially lovely in both garden-style arrangements and refined wedding work.
These blooms carry a gentle, pleasant perfume and last longer in the vase than single-flowered snapdragons. Their fullness makes them harder for insects to pollinate, which means you get more time to enjoy them once cut. Seed Sowing & Growing Notes:
Start seeds indoors 8 to 10 weeks before last frost. Transplant outdoors once the weather has warmed. Seeds are very small, so bottom-watering is recommended until seedlings emerge to prevent disturbance.
Harvesting & Vase Life:
Harvest when only the bottom 2 to 3 flowers on a stem are open, before insects can pollinate them. Expect a vase life of 7 to 10 days.
