Orlaya ‘White Finch Lace’ is one of those rare fillers that feels delicate yet works incredibly hard. In late spring and early summer, plants are covered in clouds of lacy white umbels that soften arrangements and pair effortlessly with nearly every color palette. It brings that coveted, old-world garden look without ever feeling fussy or overdone.
As the season progresses, the flowers fade into the most charming green seed heads, each dotted with tiny star-shaped pods that add texture and interest long after peak bloom. This is a true cut-and-come-again plant. The more you harvest, the more it rewards you, making it a reliable staple when you need something light, versatile, and endlessly useful.

Seed Sowing & Growing Notes:
In mild climates, orlaya can be direct-seeded in the fall. In colder regions, start seeds indoors about 6 weeks before last frost and transplant outdoors while temperatures are still cool. Seeds can be slow to start, so chilling them in the freezer for 10 to 14 days before sowing helps improve germination. Plants tolerate light frost well.
Harvesting & Vase Life:
Harvest when flowers are half to fully open. Cut during the coolest part of the day to reduce wilting. Immediately after harvest, dip the bottom few inches of stems in boiling water for 7 to 10 seconds or use Quick Dip, then place in cool water. Expect a vase life of 7 to 10 days.
