Bright, confident color with an heirloom soul.

Larkspur ‘Giant Imperial Carmine King’ brings a joyful burst of candy-pink to the spring garden. Tall, elegant spikes are lined with richly colored blooms, each petal showing subtle variation and streaking that adds depth and character. The result is a lively yet refined flower that feels anything but flat.

Cold-tolerant and quick to bloom, this variety fills the early-season gap with height and color when little else is available. It’s one of the easiest cut flowers to grow, making it ideal for both new gardeners and seasoned growers who want reliable spring stems. Fresh or dried, it earns its keep in mixed bouquets long after harvest.

Because spring colour should feel confident and full of life.

Important Note:

All parts of larkspur are poisonous, including the seeds. Please use caution when planting around children and pets.

Seed Sowing & Growing Notes:

Larkspur performs best when direct-seeded. Sow in late fall or early spring, or start indoors 6 to 8 weeks before last frost and transplant out while temperatures are still cool. Seeds can be slow to germinate indoors, so chilling them in the freezer for 10 to 14 days before sowing helps improve success. Extremely cold-tolerant, larkspur can be fall-planted even in very cold climates.

Harvesting & Vase Life:

Harvest when about one-third of the blossoms on a stem are open. Larkspur is highly sensitive to ethylene, so keep it away from ripening fruit. Expect a vase life of 5 to 7 days. For drying, allow all but the top 3 to 4 blooms to open, then hang stems upside down in a warm, dark place away from bright light for about 2 weeks.

A cheerful, dependable spring spike that brings colour, height, and lasting beauty to the cutting garden.
