Larkspur ‘Giant Imperial Blue Spire’
ETA: Shipping begins Mid February
Early-season drama in the richest shade of blue.
Larkspur ‘Giant Imperial Blue Spire’ brings instant depth and elegance to the spring garden. Tall, statuesque stems are lined with dark grape-purple blooms backed by flashes of cobalt, creating a saturated, jewel-toned blue that plays beautifully with everything from soft pastels to bold primary colors. It’s a color that anchors arrangements and makes even the simplest bouquet feel intentional.
One of the easiest cut flowers to grow, larkspur is cold-tolerant and blooms early, filling that often-quiet spring window with height and color. It’s a favorite for early mixed bouquets and continues to earn its keep long after the season ends, drying beautifully for later use. If you’ve ever struggled to find reliable spring spikes with real presence, this variety is the answer.
Because spring deserves a little drama too.
Important Note:
All parts of larkspur are poisonous, including the seeds. Please use caution when planting around children and pets.

Seed Sowing & Growing Notes:
Larkspur performs best when direct-seeded. Sow in late fall or early spring, or start indoors 6 to 8 weeks before last frost and transplant out while temperatures are still cool. Seeds can be slow to germinate indoors, so chilling them in the freezer for 10 to 14 days before sowing helps improve success. Extremely cold-tolerant, larkspur can be fall-planted even in very cold climates.
Harvesting & Vase Life:
Harvest when about one-third of the blossoms on a stem are open. Larkspur is highly sensitive to ethylene, so keep it away from ripening fruit. Expect a vase life of 5 to 7 days. For drying, allow all but the top 3 to 4 blooms to open, then hang stems upside down in a warm, dark space for about 2 weeks.
A bold, early-blooming staple that brings height, richness, and timeless beauty to spring arrangements.
