The warm, toasty filler every summer garden needs.
Amaranth ‘Hot Biscuits’ is one of those plants that quietly does it all. Incredibly productive and wonderfully unfussy, it sends up tall stems topped with golden-brown plumes that add instant warmth and texture to arrangements. The color is rich and earthy, somewhere between sunbaked wheat and toasted oats, making it a natural pairing for late-summer blooms and early fall palettes.
We grow loads of this variety every year, and for good reason. It fills gaps beautifully, adds movement without overpowering other flowers, and brings that layered, collected look designers and home arrangers are always after. If you’ve ever felt like your bouquets were missing depth or cohesion, this is the answer.
Because the best arrangements are built on strong, hardworking fillers.

Seed Sowing & Growing Notes:
Start seeds indoors 4 to 6 weeks before last frost and transplant outdoors once all danger of frost has passed. Amaranth can also be direct-seeded into the garden after frost for an easy, low-effort approach. Warm soil and sunshine encourage fast, vigorous growth.
Harvesting & Vase Life:
Harvest when seed heads are about three-quarters open for the best color and structure. Remove most foliage to showcase the textured plumes. Expect a vase life of 7 to 10 days.
A reliable, high-yield favourite that earns its spot season after season.
