Warner’s Wood Graining Tool is a nifty little gadget that can transform a plain surface into a wood grain surface in a few swipes.
Easy instructions on the back of the packaging. Works well on most surfaces including MDF or other plain surfaces.
The Wood Graining Tool has 3 surfaces for different graining effects:
- Heart Grain using the face of the tool.
- Quarter Sawed using the notched edge of the tool.
- Vein Grain using the finer comb edge of the tool.
In the example below, I have used a base coat colour of Fusion Mineral Paint Lichen – paint on and allow to dry.
In the wood grain layer, I mixed equal parts of Lichen, Little Stork & Fusion’s Sandstone Texture.
I then used the Wood Graining Tool according to directions on the packaging, dragging the tool and rocking it at the same time.
It will take some practice, so use a piece of cardboard or a sample board before trying on your piece of furniture.
